Paying for a Big Repair: Financing, Warranty, and Working With Insurance

Nobody plans for the day the transmission goes or the engine starts losing coolant. A big repair tends to arrive right when money is tight, and the temptation is to wait, patch, or walk away from a truck you still need for work. Waiting often makes the repair larger, so it helps to know the options before you're standing at the counter. Here's how paying for a major repair works at our shop at 1706 W Broadway Ave in Moses Lake, what protects you after the work is done, and how outside coverage fits in.

Repair financing: what's available

We offer several auto repair financing options, and our financing page says up to 80% of loans are approved. Approval always depends on the lender and your credit, so none of this is a promise, but it means a large share of applicants get an answer they can work with. Our financing partners are:

  • Car Care One, through Synchrony, with six months same as cash on approved credit.
  • EasyPay Finance.
  • Snap! Finance.
  • West Creek Financing.

The Car Care One option is the one most people ask about. Same as cash for six months means that, on approved credit, you can pay the repair off within that window without the usual finance charge. Read the terms carefully when you apply, and plan to pay it off inside the window. For the other partners, each lender sets its own terms, so ask about those before you sign. We'd rather you walk in understanding how it works than get surprised later.

Financing isn't the only way to pay. We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, cash, and checks. If you're mixing methods, say part on a card and part through a finance plan, tell us at the start so it's easy to line up.

How to keep a big repair manageable

A large estimate isn't always one all-or-nothing number. Ask the technician to separate what must be done now to keep the vehicle safe and running from what can wait a few months. A worn part that's about to fail is different from one that's showing early wear. It's your decision, and a straight answer helps you plan around it. Reviewer Ben Justesen put it simply when he wrote, "they have honest prices." That's the standard we hold ourselves to when we write up an estimate, and the estimate itself is free and same-day when you call.

The warranty that backs the work

A repair only matters if it holds. Our work carries a full parts and labor warranty for 12 months, plus a 12,000-mile nationwide warranty. The nationwide part matters for anyone who drives far from home. A work truck in Moses Lake might be hauling across the state next week, and a warranty that only works in one town wouldn't do much good.

Reviewer Jo Ann Paasch described it this way: "They also are great with customer service & offer a 12 month or 12000 miles warranty." She also wrote that "They use the best parts for the repair needed." Parts quality and warranty go together, because we're the ones standing behind the repair after you drive away.

Working with insurance and warranty companies

Sometimes someone else is paying all or part of the bill. If a claim is involved, or you have coverage through a warranty company, we work with insurance and warranty companies, and we can talk through what the claim needs from our end. Plan providers commonly want to approve a repair before the work starts, so it's smart to contact yours, or let us know, before anyone picks up a wrench. Coverage rules vary from plan to plan, so check your policy for what it covers and what it doesn't.

Having a shop that's used to this process saves time. We can tell you what we found, what we recommend, and what paperwork usually helps. You'll still need to confirm the details with your provider, since they make the final call on coverage.

Stranded and short on time

Big repairs often come at the worst moment. Reviewer Ted Owens was working in the Moses Lake area when his work truck needed an emergency tow, and he wrote, "They kind of rescued me." That kind of situation is exactly when knowing your payment options ahead of time pays off. We also offer a shuttle service and text updates during the repair, so you can keep your day moving.
